This 90 minute workshop will involve active participation in singing and sharing very effective songs, fingerplays that are designed for intentional purposes in different situations throughout the day with young children

Learning Outcomes:

Participants will be able to:

• learn a variety of songs, fingerplays, music & movement activities for all age ranges with using real props, their own singing voice as opposed to music videos
• learn the skills children can develop with specific songs that are sung for specific purposes for learning cooperative skills, numeracy and literacy skills, fine motor skills, transition and wait times, pretend play etc
• learn research behind the importance of music, songs for developing self-regulation skills and most critical for language skills and development
• 90 minute workshop
