In this 90 minute workshop we will be exploring important components to reflect on our practice with infants from 12 months- 18 months.

  • Looking at Separation anxiety and attachment and implications for transition new infants into a center based infant room
  • Look at transition times and policy for gradual transition into infant room
  • Infant development- look at Sensorimotor stage of development- what does that look like in an infant environment and infant engagement
  • Supporting new parents and understanding their needs
  • How to regulate infants- power of songs, music and movement for calming

 

You will learn:

To gain understanding of how to deal with separation anxiety and how to reduce the emotional impact of separation anxiety in a new child coming into the program

To gain an understanding of how to respond to infant needs, how to set up a responsive environment that reflect infant needs and how to regulate infants in a group setting
