Description of workshop for Building Resiliency

Overview - Part 2

We will be exploring the next two resiliency skills in a very comprehensive manner.  We will be discussing  and breaking down components of self control and thinking skills .  We will be engaged in exercises to teach our children how to build self control and ways to talk to children to build specific kinds of thinking skills.,

We will also be exploring the last 3 skills – Confidence, Developing a positive outlook, Responsibility and Participation.  Practical life strategies will be shared to help guide you in your intentional interactions with your child.

You will learn -

  • about building inner strengths such as self control and what does that look like for young children
  • using the STAR Method as part of teaching self control
  • about teaching emotions and developing emotional IQ
  • about building strengths such as Thinking skills-what does that look like ?
  • about problem solving skills and its importance in building resiliency
  • how to encourage a positive outlook
